** During the day, the Pferdestall restaurant is only open to museum visitors who pay the full admission price. If you reserve a table by the day before, admission to the restaurant costs 1 Euro (without a museum visit).

Restaurants

The Pferdestall restaurant, with its beer garden and a function room for up to 110 people, offers Westphalian specialities and international cuisine.

Opening hours:
Tuesday to Friday: 1 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday: 12 noon to 10 p.m.
Closed on Mondays.

Wednesdays from 1 p.m. Reibeplätzchentag (grated biscuit day)

Information for visitors:

During the day, the restaurant serves our museum guests. Even if you only want to visit the restaurant, you must pay the normal museum admission fee. Guests who wish to visit the restaurant only should reserve a table at least one day in advance by calling 0231 6903236. With such a reservation, admission to the restaurant costs 1 Euro per person (excluding museum admission). 

The restaurant is open to the public from 6 p.m. onwards.

Arriving by car

For navigation, please enter ‘Rhader Weg 5’ (car park).

A 40 Dortmund - Essen, exit Dortmund-Lütgendortmund / B 235, then follow the signs.

A 42 Dortmund - Oberhausen, exit Castrop-Rauxel, then follow the B 235 and signs.

A 45 Dortmund - Frankfurt, exit Dortmund-Marten, then take the motorway feeder road towards Dortmund-Marten and follow the signs.

Arriving by bus and train

Bus stop ‘Industriemuseum Zollern’ on bus line 462 (underground line 47 to Dortmund-Huckarde bus station, then bus 462 towards Dortmund-Marten to the ‘Industriemuseum Zollern’ stop)

or

Stop ‘Bövinghauser Straße’ on bus line 378 (S-Bahn line 1 to Bochum-Langendreer or S-Bahn line 4 to Dortmund-Lütgendortmund, then bus 378 towards Castrop-Rauxel to the stop ‘Bövinghauser Straße’; then walk approx. 1 km or take bus 462 towards Huckarde to the ‘Industriemuseum Zollern’ stop).

railway line RB 43 (‘Emschertal-Bahn’), Dortmund-Dorsten, to ‘Dortmund-Bövinghausen’ station; From there, it is a ten-minute walk (exit the platform towards the railway bridge, turn right onto Merklinder Straße for 10 metres, then diagonally left through the residential area: Plutostraße, Jupiterstraße, cross Rhader Weg diagonally to the left, Grubenweg).

Take your dog to the museum

Dogs are allowed on the outdoor grounds on a leash, with the exception of the playground.

Only guide dogs and assistance dogs are allowed inside the buildings.

Shopping in the museum

The museum shop sells books, Ruhr region souvenirs, toys and products from the LWL Museums of Industrial Heritage, such as miners' towels and glassware.
