** During the day, the Pferdestall restaurant is only open to museum visitors who pay full admission. If you reserve by the day before, admission to the restaurant costs 1 Euro (without a museum visit).

The Pferdestall restaurant, with beer garden and function room for up to 110 people, offers Westphalian specialities and international cuisine.

Opening hours:
Tuesday to Friday: 1 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday: 12 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Closed on Mondays

Wednesdays from 1 p.m. Reibeplätzchentag (potato pancake day)

Information for visitors:

During the day, the restaurant serves museum guests. Even if you only want to visit the restaurant, you must pay the museum admission fee. Guests who wish to only visit the restaurant should reserve a table at least one day in advance by calling 0231 6903236. With  prior reservation, admission to the restaurant costs 1 Euro per person (without a museum visit). 

The restaurant is open to the public after 6 p.m.

Arriving by car

For navigation, please input ‘Rhader Weg 5’ (car park).

A 40 Dortmund - Essen, take exit Dortmund-Lütgendortmund / B 235, then follow the signs.

A 42 Dortmund - Oberhausen, take exit Castrop-Rauxel, then follow the B 235 and signs.

A 45 Dortmund - Frankfurt, exit at Dortmund-Marten, then take the motorway feeder road towards Dortmund-Marten and follow the signs.

Arriving by bus and train

Disembark at the ‘Industriemuseum Zollern’ stop on bus line 462 (take underground line 47 to the Dortmund-Huckarde bus station, then bus 462 towards Dortmund-Marten to the ‘Industriemuseum Zollern’ stop)

or

Disembark at the ‘Bövinghauser Straße’ stop on bus line 378 (take S-Bahn line 1 to Bochum-Langendreer station or S-Bahn line 4 to Dortmund-Lütgendortmund station, then take bus line 378 towards Castrop-Rauxel to the stop ‘Bövinghauser Straße’; then walk approx. 1 km or take bus line 462 towards Huckarde and exit at the ‘Industriemuseum Zollern’ stop).

or

Take railway line RB 43 (‘Emschertal-Bahn’) towards Dortmund-Dorsten to ‘Dortmund-Bövinghausen’ station; From there, it is a ten-minute walk (exit the platform heading towards the railway bridge, turn right onto Merklinder Straße, then, after10 metres, head diagonally left through the residential area: Plutostraße, Jupiterstraße, cross over Rhader Weg diagonally left towards Grubenweg).

Take your dog to the museum

Dogs are allowed on the outdoor grounds on a leash – excluding the playground area.

Only guide dogs and assistance dogs are allowed inside the buildings.

Shopping at the museum

The museum shop sells books, Ruhr region souvenirs, toys and products from the LWL Museums of Industrial Heritage, such as miner’s towels and glassware.
